BB7 winner Pete: 'I don't watch Big Brother'
It may have made him a star, but it seems Big Brother winner Pete Bennett is no longer a fan of the show. The wacky 25-year-old - who won the show in 2006 - is apparently unimpressed with the celebrity offshoots. He told the Daily Star: "I'm not watching Big Brother. Most people I've spoken to think it's quite boring. "BB7 was wicked but they followed it with the celeb series with Jade Goody. I didn't like it because of the racism towards Shilpa Shetty. "I expected change to come with BB8 but it didn't happen. It didn't make me go 'wow' and there was another racist comment. I was a bit upset by the whole thing and it has put me off BB altogether." Just 1,000 hopefuls turned up for this week's BB9 auditions - where Pete has been acting as a host and giving tips the the wannabe stars. Tourette's syndrome sufferer Pete added: "When I auditioned for BB7 there were a lot more people trying out. "Still, I've had fun going up to people and chatting to them, seeing what they're about. I've made a few friends and helped three people get through to the second stage."
