Alesha Dixon: Simon Cowell 'enjoyed' poaching me!
Britain's Got Talent newcomer Alesha Dixon has said that she is convinced Simon Cowell 'got a kick' out of poaching her from the Strictly Come Dancing panel. Speaking to the Sunday Mirror the singer joked, "I'm sure he got off on that," but added that the decision to join the show and quit Strictly was entirely her own. "It makes it sound like he stole me and I had no choice," she said. "I was like, 'well no-one lost their job, so there can't be an ageist debate, no-one's being fired, I'm out of a contract, I'm a free agent'. And I like the unknown, I get a kick out of challenges." However she admitted that it was not easy leaving the dance show behind. "Obviously I was sad to say goodbye because it's changed my life and done amazing things for me," Alesha said. "Plus it's a lovely fuzzy warm environment." "I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about doing both but I felt like it was time to move on. "Three years is a respectable amount of time and I wouldn't want people to get bored of me," the 33-year-old added. "Always be the one to leave the party, I say."
