The woman who caused an unlikely sensation by invading the stage of the Britain's Got Talent final and pelting Simon Cowell with eggs has apologised for her actions.
The mystery assailant - later revealed to be viola player Natalie Holt - found herself the talk of Twitter when she pulled off the stunt while brothers Richard and Adam Johnson were singing.
However she has now said sorry to the boys for causing the disruption.
"I want to apologise to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance," she said. "I've never done anything like this before and in hindsight I realise it was a silly thing to do."
It has also transpired that Natalie, who is a member of the band Raven Quartet, previously appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2012 when they auditioned on the show.
Her bandmates appear to have known nothing of her plans, having later said on their Twitter page that they were not involved in the incident.
"Just to clarify...the other three of us were working elsewhere today and found out when you did," they said.
A spokesperson for Britain's Got Talent told Mail Online that the police had been called following the incident but that no further action had been taken.
Simon - who spent the remainder of the show without his jacket on after it was pelted with the eggs, quipped: "I said on Twitter the other day that I don't like eggs and I really don't like them now."
Amanda, meanwhile, added: "The only person with egg on their face is the stupid cow who did that."
Richard and Adam went on to finish third in the final with 15.4 per cent of the public vote.
