Britain's Got Talent: Connie's charity pledge
Connie Talbot, favourite to win the hit TV show Britain's Got Talent, apparently wants to give the prize money to children in Africa if she wins. The six-year-old wowed both the audience and judging panel - Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden - with her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Her mum Sharon told The Sun: "She watched Live8 on TV and says she wants to give her money to the children shown at that concert." Connie is the early favourite to win, at odds of 3/1 at bookies William Hill. She plans to dedicate her semi-final performance to her 'Nan in heaven', her mum added. The young singing sensation received a standing ovation when she performed on the show and even made Amanda cry. Simon told the paper: "You cannot not fall in love with Connie. She's one of the sweetest little girls I've ever met and she gave a spellbinding first audition." Britain's Got Talent, which started on Saturday, sees the panel of tough-talking judges search for an 'exceptional act' to perform at the Royal Variety Performance. The lucky winner will walk away with a whopping £100,000. Six performers will go head-to-head in the live grand final on Sunday June 17.
