George's Singin' in the Rain for No 1? (VIDEO)
The remixed version of Singin' In The Rain is set to reach number one in the UK singles chart after it was used by Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson. George, 14, from Warrington, triumphed in the final of ITV talent contest on Saturday night, after performing an inspired breakdance routine to the revamped version of Gene Kelly's hit from 1929. Remixed by Manchester dance act Mint Royale, the song sits at number one in the midweek chart, based on Monday's sales. Mint Royale first released the track in 2005, when it reached number 20 in the UK singles chart. An edited version featured in an ad for Volkswagen. The group posted a message to George on their website, saying: "We just wanted to say a huge congratulations to George Sampson for winning Britain's Got Talent." "A massive 14 million people watched his winning dance to our very own Singin' In The Rain, earning him a big pot of money and a slot at this year's Royal Variety Performance."
