Susan Boyle immortalised in The Simpsons (VIDEO)
Scottish singing hopeful Susan Boyle has followed her appearance on Oprah with a namecheck on another US TV institution - The Simpsons. In an online clip entitled Springfield's Got Talent, perennial slacker Homer comes out as a fan of the 48-year-old from West Lothian before displaying his own less than perfect vocal skills. It is not the first US cartoon to have mentioned Susan since her surprise rise to global fame, as cult show South Park has already joked about the trans-Atlantic impact of her performance of I Dreamed A Dream on ITV's Britain's Got Talent. In the Simpsons clip, a cartoon Simon Cowell is seen questioning would-be contestant Homer. The slacker dad star of the show tells him: "My name is Homer Simpson, I'm 39 and, well, I've never been kissed." He adds: "My dream is to become a great singer like Susan Boyle." But his vocal attempts fail to impress and are greeted by a chorus of boos. The namecheck is the latest development as the Scottish singer continues to take America by storm. Alongside her Oprah interview, Susan has also appeared on a number of network news programmes. CLICK below to watch Homer in Springfield's Got Talent
