Jack Tweed, the widower of reality TV star Jade Goody, is due to be sentenced after admitting assaulting a man outside a nightclub. Tweed, 24, who married Big Brother star Jade Goody shortly before she died from cervical cancer in March 2009, is due to appear at Redbridge Magistrates' Court in Ilford, Essex. He was involved in a brawl outside Deuces Bar and Lounge in Chigwell, Essex, on January 3 in which 21-year-old builder Tom Grantham was knocked unconscious. Tweed, of Buckhurst Hill, Essex punched Mr Grantham in the head and then tried to kick him because he thought he had threatened to petrol bomb the bar. The venue had suffered an arson attack in October last year after Tweed and Mark Wright, who appears in reality series The Only Way is Essex, had invested money in its refurbishment. It was then targeted for a second time on New Year's Eve, four days before the assault. Tweed will appear alongside his brother, Lewis Tweed, 21, of Roebuck Lane, Buckhurst Hill, who punched Mr Grantham in the face. Both men have admitted common assault. Earlier this month Mr Wright was cleared of using threatening behaviour towards Mr Grantham.
