Will Alison King get to rename Corrie?! Here's her joke suggestion!

Coronation Street star Alison King, who plays factory boss Carla Connor, has come up with a surprising new name for the ITV soap.

The 45-year-old star reveals that she’s such a huge fan of her on-screen family that she thinks they should rename Britain’s favourite show in honour of them…

“The Connors have got their fingers in so many pies at the moment that it should be ‘Connor-nation Street” instead of Coronation Street,” she jokes.

Erm, Connor-nation Street… we’re not convinced! Continuing to talk about why she loves the Connors so much, Alison, who first joined the show in 2006, says: “There are so many different and complex characters and they’re all absolutely brilliant. There’s Kate, who is crazy, impulsive and caring, then there’s Jenny thinking she rules the roost, and Michelle and Carla, who are more like sisters than real sisters are!”

Coronation Street, or Connor-nation Street if you prefer, continues on ITV!
