Corrie's Andrew Lancel to play Beatles music legend
Former Coronation Street star Andrew Lancel is to play Beatles' manager Brian Epstein in a show in London's West End at the end of July.
The show, called Epstein: The Man Who Made the Beatles, will come to the Leicester Square Theatre, following a run in Liverpool.
In Coronation Street, Andrew played evil Frank Foster, who became engaged to Carla before raping her and then was murdered by his mum, Anne, with a whisky bottle!
Andrew also starred as DI Neil Manson in long-running ITV cop show, The Bill.
An experienced singer, Andrew takes up his new role in the West End in the summer for a six-week run.
"I'm really made up that it's going to the West End," says Andrew. "It's a gem of a part."
A very private man, Brian Epstein was catapulted into the limelight, becoming a household name as the Beatles' manager. He had a controversial private life and died of an accidental overdose in 1967 at the age of 32.
