Corrie's Colson Smith: 'Craig will be a father figure to Faye's babies'
They say you should never work with animals or small children, but Coronation Street star Colson Smith has had to work with both.
The teen actor – who plays Craig Tinker in the soap – recently revealed the perils of filming scenes with his character's pet Darryl – so how is he coping now that he is filming scenes with a baby?
Colson revealed that he and Ellie Leach, who plays Craig's best pal Faye, have started filming with the tots who play the schoolgirl’s babies when she gives birth in a few weeks. And he added that he had been unfazed by the challenge of working with children.
Colson revealed: “It’s brilliant. We’ve already met the babies, they’re brilliant, they’re really cute.

Faye and Craig are close friends (ITV)
Although Craig is not the father of Faye’s baby, Colson revealed he will aim to be a father figure, and keep supporting his friend.
He said: “I think Craig’s going to try and help as much as he can. He’s a soft kid, he’s a goody, he really likes helping out.
"So I think he will help Faye after the baby has been born as much as he can.”
Both Colson and Ellie are very young to be tackling such a tough storyline.
He said: “It’s been really good fun and hard work, and me and Ellie are both hoping we do it justice and that comes across on screen. We both really enjoy it.”
