Coronation Street’s Jane Danson reveals all to Soaplife…
Who is this man Leanne has met?
“Simon’s football team manager, Tom [Daniel Casey]. They meet while Leanne’s waiting in the Bistro and he buys her a drink and they get chatting. She’s attracted to him and is very flattered when he gives her his number.”
What happens when she bumps into him again at Simon’s football match?
“It’s a nice surprise to see him and they start chatting… something Simon [Alex Bain] immediately spots.”

“Yes and she kicks herself, realising that Simon will think she’s flirting with his football coach. She knows Simon will be furious about it, especially as he didn’t want her at the match anyway.”
Does Simon get violent again?
“He brutally tackles a boy called Kyle who’s teased him about Tom and Leanne, and Kyle says Simon’s done it on purpose. It isn’t something Leanne wants to believe, but part of her thinks it’s possible, knowing what he’s done to her and Amy in the past.”
How does she find out it was on purpose?
“Kyle’s leg is badly broken and Leanne then hears from Zeedan [Qasim Akhtar] that Simon has admitted it was no accident.”
What does she do?
“If Simon’s starting to lash out at other people, she needs to do something about it. She goes to the police station by herself and tells them about Simon attacking her and now breaking the leg of a teammate. It is the hardest thing she has ever had to do, but she feels she has been left with no choice.”
How will Simon react when the police call round?
“He’ll be terrified and really upset. I don’t think he’ll be able to believe what his long-suffering mum has finally been forced to do.”
Can Simon and Leanne’s relationship ever get back on track?
“It has been such a difficult time for them both, but maybe it needed to get this bad before they can turn it around.”
