Freddie Flintoff reveals dream job: Rovers barman!
Cricket legend Andrew Flintoff has revealed his dream job is to be landlord of the Rovers Return. The 32-year-old, who is known to be a big fan of Coronation Street, took part in a television trailer marking the soap's 50th anniversary. The excitable star told his followers on Twitter: "Being asked to do the Corrie advert is the highlight of my career. "My dream job would be landlord of the Rovers - any chance, ITV?" The retired cricketer mulled over roles he could play on the soap, suggesting Betty Turpin's toy boy, the love child of Alec Gilroy and Bet Lynch and Les Battersby's brother. But he said he would steer clear of one of the notoriously doomed roles in the soap. "Only role I wouldn't take would be Gail's boyfriend. No amount of money could tempt me!" A Coronation Street spokesman told the Daily Star: "We are pleased to hear Freddie is a huge fan of the show. I am sure Street residents would be bowled over to find him behind the bar of the Rovers."
