Helen Flanagan has said that she will never return to Coronation Street - after blaming the soap for causing her to suffer depression. The actress, who played Rosie Webster on the show from the age of 10, was not killed off by producers when she quit in early 2012, giving her the option to return in the future. But according to the Mirror the 22-year-old has said she is never going back - adding that she found many of her later storylines hard to deal with. "There was a lot of disappointment on set when Helen came out and said what she did, especially as people looked after her on the show," a source told the paper. "Her character was very popular and there was a genuine feeling that she could return one day. But that's not going to happen now." Helen revealed that the change in Rosie's character once she became a teenager left her struggling to cope with filming. "When I was about 16, all these storylines suddenly happened with Rosie doing sexy scenes," she said. "I was willing to do the scenes because it seemed like fun. But it also felt weird because my family are very strict. And adding that she was the "complete opposite" of her character, Helen admitted: "I did one really sexy scene with loads of dialogue. "I was going through bad depression and it was too much pressure – I burst into tears. I think people thought I was a drama queen, but I was depressed." Since leaving the show Helen has appeared on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here where she proved less than popular with viewers - who voted for her to do seven consecutive Bushtucker trials. She recently admitted she had not been offered any acting jobs since her stint in the jungle ended -but had been focusing instead on her modelling and plans to write a book.
