Kym thinks James is a sweetie

Kym Marsh has revealed that James Burrows, who plays her screen son Ali, calls her mum in real life!

The Coronation Street star, who plays Michelle Connor, told us she has a great time working with James.

Kym, 41, said: “He’s lovely, he calls me mum all the time now, ‘Hiya, mum!’ I get texts from him, ‘Hi mum, have you got the call sheets?

“I’m always mum now, he’s such a sweetie, he’s very welcome in the family, we get along very well.”

Michelle is desperate to reconnect with her son. But is it too little too late?

She added: “He seems to have settled really quickly, everybody becomes friends quite quickly and he’s made really good friends now.”

So, has Kym gone all mumsy and passed on some advice to James?

“He didn’t need any, he’s done a lot of stuff. He’s a young man, but he’s done a lot of stuff, so he doesn’t really need any advice…

“He’s a wonderful actor, and he’s lovely to watch.”

And James clearly enjoys working with Kym, he recently told us: "I’ve got to say everyone’s been very welcoming, Kym especially, she’s taken me under her wing a little bit. A lot of my scenes are with her so she’s been great, she’s a really nice woman.”

Coronation Street continues on ITV.
