Rehearsals get underway for Coronation Street LIVE

The 48 Coronation Street cast and many more crew have met for a read-through of the Coronation Street live episode and rehearsals began on set today.

The hour-long live episode will be screen at 7.30pm on Wednesday, September 23 as part of ITV’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

 

Photos from the soap’s instagram account @coronationstreet have been released showing all the cast involved in the episode taking part in the read-through.

The cast will have two full weeks of rehearsals before going live to the nation on the 23rd.

The episode will focus on the Platts' desperate attempts to thwart Callum and his plan to extort £20,000 from them. The backdrop to the tense drama at the Platts will be Lloyd and Andrea’s leaving party in the Rovers, Roy’s 60th birthday party at the cafe and his burgeoning relationship with Cathy. Meanwhile there’s a shock in store for Tim when he finds out about Kevin and Sally’s illicit kiss.

Coronation Street LIVE will be followed by a special ITV2 show at 10pm hosted by Stephen Mulhern interviewing cast as they come off air and revealing behind the scenes

secrets.
