Sam predicts 'a lot of bad stuff' for Ches and Katy

Coronation Street's Sam Aston has revealed there will be 'a lot of bad stuff' coming up for his character Chesney Brown and his girlfriend Katy Armstrong.

The market stallholder is set to propose to the mother of his child, who is having a secret affair with Ryan Connor, in tonight's episode (March 13) and while she agrees to marry him, the actor teased that things won't go smoothly.

"Chesney hasn't got a clue, with regards to Katy's feelings towards Ryan. Chesney thinks they're all just mates, but he doesn't see how deep it goes... and that she's been playing the dirty game," he told Coronation Street's official website.

"She does love Chesney as they have a family together, but she's getting something - excitement and adrenalin - from Ryan that she doesn't from Chesney. Even though she says yes, there's a lot bubbling underneath and he doesn't see any of this."

Katy - played by Georgia May Foote - will get caught out by Gary Windass (Mikey North) during one of her secret trysts with Ryan (Sol Heras), and Sam teased that things will go from bad to worse for the pair.

"Katy does get caught out by Gary, I believe, and Gary being Gary, I don't think he can keep a lid on it. There's a lot of drama to come, a lot of upset and anger and all that bad stuff," he said.
