It’s been nearly nine months since Michelle Keegan bowed out of Coronation Street, and she's set to make her post-soap acting debut in new BBC drama Ordinary Lies.

The new trailer shows the six-time British Soap Awards Sexiest Female winner getting emotional as her character faces an earth-shattering dilemma that leaves her declaring: "I’d rather be in prison than deal with this.”

Ordinary Lies, which also stars Jason Manford, Jo Joyner, Mackenzie Crook and Max Beesley, is a six-part drama telling six different stories of people with secrets that threaten to ruin their lives.

The series has been made by Red Production Company – the creators of Happy Valley and Last Tango In Halifax – and Shameless director Danny Brocklehurst.
