When the police catch up with him, it looks like dodgy builder Phelan will have to abandon his plan to defraud the locals
For some time now, evil Phelan has been putting together a scam designed to part Weatherfield residents from their cash by selling them properties he has no intention of building.
With only Todd harbouring suspicions about the honesty of the businessman and his accomplice, Vinny, it's no wonder Phelan is looking more smug than ever.
But could the smirk be wiped off his face for good when the police drag Phelan off to quiz him about his scheme?
Sensing Todd could cause trouble for him, Phelan offers to cut him into the deal. But before Todd can reply, the police turn up
Eileen, meanwhile, is oblivious to Phelan's true motives and, earlier, is delighted when Vinny gets a call confirming that planning permission for Phelan's complex has been granted
Returning home, Phelan calls the architect and tells him his services are no longer required
To Phelan's horror, Todd has overheard the call and accuses the builder of operating a scam

When Eileen then goes missing, worried Todd confronts Phelan demanding to know where she is. Assuring Todd that she's safe, Phelan then makes his offer to cut him in on his scheme
