Foxy first to leave the Ice
DJ Neil Fox has become the first celebrity to be voted off ITV's Dancing on Ice. Foxy lost a skate off against Sky News presenter Kay Burley, the other lowest-scoring celeb and her partner. The series which sees celebrities pair up with professional skaters and perform for a live audience - and a harsh panel of judges - began a new series with a 100-minute special that introduced the stars and their partners. Each Saturday, it's up to the the judges and viewers to decide which of the star skaters has done enough twirling and spinning to survive to the following week. After the studio judges had given their scores, Declan Donnelly's former girlfriend Clare Buckfield, with her partner Andrei, led the scoring, and former England rugby international Kyran Bracken, and his dancing partner Melanie, were in second place. Kay was bottom of the pack, with fellow newsreader Phil Gayle and former Boyzone singer Stephen Gately tied for second last place. When viewers' phone votes were added to those of the judges, however, the bottom two were Kay and Neil. Ice skating duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are back to train the celebs for their Saturday night performances. Unfortunately, even the two former Olympic champions couldn't do enough to save Foxy from being the first voted out.
