Jennifer Ellison exits Dancing On Ice semi-final
Actress Jennifer Ellison has missed out on a place in next weekend's Dancing On Ice final after being voted out in the final skate-off of the series The former Brookside star had managed to avoid the bottom two for the entire series prior to the semi-final, but her luck finally ran out after she found herself facing Jorgie Porter - also in her first skate-off - in her bid to reach the final. And after both had reprised their routines, the judges were unanimous in who they wanted to save. "You did both pull out all the stops," Louie Spence said of the skate-off, "but the person I'm going to save is Jorgie." Robin Cousins added, "Jennifer, you can go away with your head held high, that was your best performance of the series - but Jorgie, it was also your best performance of the series." And Katarina Witt sealed the deal, saying, "Jennifer, you should be very proud - but I'm saving Jorgie." Afterwards a tearful Jennifer said, "I've loved every single minute of the show. Everybody has been amazing and I would like to thank everyone given the opportunity." The actress also paid tribute to the finalists, and added, "This has been the best year ever. The three finalists are going to give a cracking final and I wish them all the best of luck." Earlier in the show Jennifer had finished bottom of the judges' scoreboard after her routine to Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody, and her solo performance - both of which saw her stumble on the rink. "This was a really good performance," Louie told her, "but the standard is high tonight and you did have that stumble," while Katarina said, "I wish I had seen you skating more." Jennifer's departure means that Jorgie, Chico and Matthew Wolfenden will compete in next weekend's final for the series title. Emmerdale star Matthew won a place in the final during the first part of Sunday's show after topping the judges' scoreboard, while Chico made it through following the public vote.
