Jennifer Metcalfe: 'I'm nothing like Mercedes'
Jennifer Metcalfe is looking forward to viewers seeing a different side to her when she appears on Dancing on Ice. Jennifer is best known for playing man-eating Mercedes McQueen in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks. But Jennifer hopes that people will realise she's nothing like her character. "I'm totally different," she said. "I always say in interviews that I'm nothing like my character and people will see that I really am nothing like Mercedes." Jennifer also revealed that she's being given support by her Hollyoaks' co-star Kieron Richardson, who came third in last year's series. She said: "You don't know how good you should be after two months, but I've been telling Kieron what I've been doing and he says it's very good for that amount of time. Speaking to Kieran has been reassuring." Jennifer reckons that ex-newsreader Angela Rippon could be one to watch, saying: "She looks so dainty and elegant on the ice." Jennifer is one of 16 famous faces taking part in the series - but in the first two shows, viewers will decide which 12 will actually compete. Dancing on Ice begins on Sunday January 9 on ITV1.
