Two new TP-Link Wi-Fi routers use the newest technology for the fastest speeds yet
New routers. For gamers. Built to last
TP-Link has announced two new Wi-Fi routers designed to make use of the latest technology and provide gamers with the best wireless speeds possible. The new Archer AX6000 and Archer AX11000 will use the 802.11ax wireless standard called Wi-Fi 6.
In development for the last few years, this standard promises speeds up to four times that of 802.11ac, the one we're all most familiar with now. You'll also see some pretty advanced features to take advantage of the new standard, such as technologies designed to ensure every single device that's connected to the router is going at blazing speeds.
The Archer AX6000, which is currently available for pre-order on Amazon and even comes with a $25 gift card, will have speeds up to 1148 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 4804 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. It will also have two Wi-Fi co-processors, a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor, and 1GB of RAM for the best possible performance. The router has built-in anti-virus protection that uses a constantly updated thread database and powerful parental controls.
The Archer AX11000 is not quite as available as the AX6000 yet, but when it is it will be TP-Link's newest flagship gaming router. It will have tri-band speeds up to 10,756 Mbps, OFDMA technology to optimize mobile access from multiple users, and a Gaming Accelerator to reduce latency and interference. It will also have a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM but will include three Wi-Fi co-processors.
While the AX11000 is certainly the more powerful of the two routers, they actually have a lot in common. You'll get a 2.5 Gbps WAN port and eight gigabit LAN ports on each router, along with USB-C and USB-A ports. Both routers also have eight external antennas using Rangeboost and Beamforming technology. In addition to all that, setup for each router is a breeze. You can use Bluetooth and TP-Link's Tether app to do it rather simply. The app also gives you plenty of management options.
Add an Alexa-enabled device like the Amazon Echo Dot to your new wireless network. You'll be able to use voice commands to add new devices to the network, prioritize certain devices, turn the guest Wi-Fi on and off, and more.
Pre-order the Archer AX6000 for $349.99 on Amazon and you'll get a free $25 gift card. The Archer AX11000 will be available in January for $449.99.
If you're here because you want a new router, but you also aren't a hardcore gamer, then look at some of the other options TP-Link has on Amazon. The Archer C2300 is a powerful router with plenty of positive reviews, and it's 5% off today.
