Doctor Who cast reunite as filming begins
Doctor Who star Matt Smith teams up with co-stars Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill once more - but not for long. The trio were reunited for the start of filming for the latest series of the Time Lord's adventures, which will see a "heartbreaking departure" for Amy (Karen) and Rory (Arthur). The BBC announced in December that the couple would be leaving the series during its next run. The group were pictured on-set in front of the Tardis as work began on series seven in Cardiff. Matt said: "It's thrilling and exciting to be back and working with two of my closest friends." And Karen added: "It's just brilliant to be back on the Tardis with Matt and Arthur for our craziest adventures yet." Rory and Amy have been with the BBC One show since Matt took over as the 11th Doctor in 2010. The BBC said their final storyline together - part of a 14-episode series - would be a "rollercoaster voyage". Guest stars for the forthcoming shows - which will see new foes and old villains returning - will include David Bradley, Rupert Graves and Mark Williams.
