EastEnders star Don promises 'very dark' storyline
EastEnders actor Don Gilet has promised that things are going to get a lot darker for his character Lucas Johnson in the run-up to Christmas. In tonight’s episode (Friday 4 September) Lucas goes from saint to sinner when he kills wife Trina. Don, who arrived in Walford as devoutly Christian Lucas in March 2008, tells Soaplife that Lucas was always too good to be true. “When he first appeared someone wrote in saying he was a good character, but somewhere down the line something was going to come unstuck,” he says. “We’ve always known there was more to this do-gooder than meets the eye. Things are going to get a lot darker in the build-up to Christmas.” But just how dark? “It’s going to get very dark,” he teases, “and I hope I can pull it off, scare people and do panto at Christmas.” Does this mean that Lucas will be gone by December and if so will it be in a police van... or a hearse?
