Volatile nurse Emma Barton is heartbroken to discover James's recent betrayal with his sister-in-law, Moira, in Emmerdale
When Emma Barton overhears Ross and James discussing James's recent kiss with Moira her world collapses in Emmerdale.
With her wedding to the farmer imminent and their house move planned for this week, she's shattered to hear of his betrayal.
Will she confront James in a fit of rage, or will she keep quiet and make him pay?
Emma has plans for James and he's not going to like them...
Earlier on, Ross interrupts James who's busy packing for his and Emma's move to the farm the following day.
Ross is still simmering over the revelation that his dad recently kissed Moira and told her he loved her.
Ross demands to know how James could betray his mum like that but as the two men start arguing, Ross shoves James...
The farmer loses his footing and is sent flying down the stairs. Eek!
Emma's panicked to see her hubby unconscious on the floor and rushes him to hospital.
When Moira and Pete come to visit it's confirmed that James has broken his leg and will need to stay on the ward for a while.
Once alone, James reassures Moira that Ross won't blab about their recent passionate encounter.
However James is blissfully unaware that Emma has heard everything and already knows that the pair of them betrayed her.
Emma doesn't let on that she knows and instead tells James that the hospital have given her permission to nurse him at home. They're free to go. James returns home on his crutches and Emma plays the doting nurse.
Nothing's too much trouble for Emma as she lavishes all her attention on James and even makes him his favourite apple pie. But it's all a pretence...
Inside Emma is stewing and plotting revenge. When James starts to feel overwhelmingly groggy he begins to suspect that Emma has sedated him.
But that's the least of his issues. When she confiscates his mobile phone and later stamps on it, he soon realises he's becoming a prisoner in his own home. As James lies unable to move and confined to his bed, what is unhinged Emma going to do next to make him suffer? Watch Emmerdale on ITV from Monday 10 October.
