Emmerdale's Carl and Carrie had a secret affair once upon a time - but are they about to do it again?! Tom Lister spills the beans... Finding out their dad Tom had a secret affair with Carrie shocked all the King brothers - but Carl's the most shocked of all. Why? "Because Carl had an affair with Carrie too. Well, I say affair, but that was mostly in Carl's mind. How do you mean? "What they had was a one-night stand when Carl was 16. In fact, Carrie took his virginity!" Clearly, the impressionable youngster wanted their affair to last for more than just one night. "Carl was desperate to develop a relationship with her but Carrie was 10 years older than him and wasn't interested." Did Carl know that Carrie was having an affair with dad Tom? "No. He had no idea. He knew nothing about that until Carrie turned up at his dad's funeral. He was shocked and hurt too." So did Carrie's reappearance stir up old feelings in Carl? "He’d been pretty crushed when she rejected him and it took him a long time to get over her." How does Carl react to the news that Carrie plans to move to the village with daughter Scarlett? "Well, since Carrie turned up in his life again, he's been pretty confused. Now she's going to be a part of the Kings' life it's very unsettling for him. Carl finally gets Carrie alone and confesses his hurt that she had an affair with his dad and refuses to see reason when she insists that theirs was just a fling and it wouldn't have been appropriate to tell Tom." So, does anyone else know about their fling? "Not yet, although Chas senses something's wrong which just makes Carl more uneasy around Carrie." Could it be that he still has feelings for her? "He's very confused. Carrie was his first love and he's never forgotten her. He never thought of her before she turned up in the village but now she has, he doesn't know what he feels. He was deeply attracted to Carrie. Maybe he still is." If that's true, how will Carl deal with Carrie living in Emmerdale? "All he really knows right now is that it would be easier if Carrie just left the village." Do you think Carl woould consider teaming up with Matthew who's trying to swindle Scarlett and Carrie out of their inheritance? "No. He has no plans to do anything like that. This is a personal issue between Carrie and himself. It has nothing to do with anyone else." Ah, but is he sure? Is there any chance that Scarlett might be his daughter not Tom's? "That hasn't even been discussed as far as I'm aware. I don’t even know if the timing adds up." But it could be something that Carl has to consider... "Give the man a break! He's only just trying to come to terms with rediscovering the woman who took his virginity!"
