Danny Miller almost quit acting before Emmerdale

Former Emmerdale star Danny Miller has revealed he almost gave up on a career in acting after so many failed auditions.

The 22-year-old actor won 11 awards for his portrayal of gay teenager Aaron Livesy in the soap between 2008 and 2012, but revealed to The Sun he had almost given up on acting before he got the part.

Danny said: "I'd been for so many auditions and was told I wasn't right for the part - quite frankly I was struggling. I was out of work for six months and then I worked for my uncle for a year doing office admin.

"I was at home with Mum and Dad and auditioning for small parts and not getting them. It was soul destroying.

"I decided I was making Emmerdale my last audition. I was fed up and felt I'd had enough.

"I got the part and it was a turning point that I'll remember for the rest of my life. Now I can't help but think it was meant to be."

Danny is now starring in new ITV drama Lightfields as 1940s farmhand Tom. But he hasn't ruled out a return to Emmerdale.

He said: "They might decide they want to bring Aaron back - you just never know, so I'd never say never."
