Emmerdale star Emma Atkins has said she is a big fan of her character Charity Sharma’s latest in a long line of wedding looks.
In her time in the ITV soap, Charity has married Chris Tate (Peter Amory), jilted Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), jilted Michael Conway (Jamie Belman) and married Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson), in an array of outfits ranging from raspberry satin to red flamenco-style to classic bridal white.
But Emma said that for her latest nuptials with Declan Macey (Jason Merrells), she was pleased to go for a masculine white trouser suit.
Emma said: “There’s a real severity about Charity’s power suit - which is good for the desperation going on in her mind.
“It has a masculine vibe about it. It’s elegant and glamorous, but with a hard-edged hairstyle that adds some severity.”
Charity and Declan are planning to go through with their wedding on the same day as her ex Cain marries Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb), drawing inevitable comparisons between the brides, with Moira in a glamorous red dress.
Emma continued: “It’s power-dressing, and a wonderful contrast to Moira’s vampy outfit.”
