Emmerdale’s Natalie Anderson tells Soaplife that just when it looks like Alicia may get everything she ever wanted she has to face the fear of losing Jacob…
Alicia has longed to be with David for what seems like forever, but now she has him there isn’t much romance in the air because Priya wants to hurt them - and she’s got the ultimate weapon: her knowledge that Alicia is not Jacob’s real mum. “Priya threatens to tell Jacob the truth to hurt Alicia and she knows then that she has to take control and tell the boy herself,” Natalie reveals. And telling him doesn’t go well…
So, Alicia finally has David…
“Yes, three days of Alicia being touch and go after Cameron shot her was what David needed. When he thought he had lost her he couldn’t deny his feelings any more.”
But now she could lose Jacob!
“Alicia’s afraid of Priya telling Jacob that she’s not his real mum. Ultimately, Alicia’s one real love is Jacob and the thought of him not being in her life is worse than anything.”
Does Alicia feel sorry for Priya?
“She does, but she can’t deny her love for David.”
Then Alicia, Jacob and David go to a Halloween party - and it becomes a nightmare, doesn’t it?
“Alicia, David and Jacob are dressed as mummies - they look really cute as a family together while Priya’s a sexy vixen-like cat. Priya gets drunk and Alicia’s worried. She decides she’s going to tell Jacob the truth before Priya can do any damage but she puts it off. Then, when they get home, a brick smashes through the window and terrifies Jacob. Alicia thinks Priya has done it and is absolutely fuming.”
Alicia has a massive go at Priya the next day…
“Yes. Alicia says, ‘Where do you get off scaring little kids?’ but Priya snaps and says, ‘If I was going to hurt you, I would have...’ and Alicia knows she could say ‘You’re not his mum’ in front of everyone. She knows she has to tell Jacob herself.”
So she does…
“It was one of the most heartbreaking things I have had to film. This woman has looked after this little boy for 10 years and has to tell him she’s not his mum. He cries his eyes out.”
And then he runs away...
“And that’s Alicia’s worst fear. She never told him the truth because she was terrified he would leave her. She feels that the love has been severed when he finds out the truth.”
