Emmerdale's Adam: The farm boy's burning revenge!
Emmerdale's Adam Thomas reveals to Soaplife how Adam Barton needs someone to pay for the death of his father, farmer John - and he thinks that someone should be Cain! But will he make Cain pay with his life? The Bartons are grateful to Cain for saving Holly's life... All except Adam, right? "Adam still blames Cain for everything. It's driving Adam mad that his family seem to be softening towards Cain because he took Holly to hospital when she OD'd. Moira even buys Cain a drink! And Adam's like, 'Are you all forgetting what he's done? How he screwed up our family?' Adam's desperately trying to get his family to remember this and they don't." So he attacks Cain at the garage... "He doesn't go looking for Cain. He goes to see Aaron at the garage and Cain's there instead. Cain starts winding him up and Adam flips. He chucks a big fuel canister at Cain's bad leg and it floors Cain, so Adam has the upper hand. He wants to scare Cain and he wants him to apologise for the hurt he's put the Bartons through. He wants Cain to feel as bad as he does." But Cain won't apologise, will he? "No. So Adam starts trashing the garage. Petrol has leaked out of the canister and Adam starts waving a blowtorch around. But Cain taunts Adam, saying he's just a little kid and would never dare set fire to the place. Adam just loses it and he does set the garage on fire." And he leaves Cain trapped inside! "The fire takes hold so quickly that Adam panics and runs for it. He gets on his quad bike and drives off, but then he realises what he's done and that Cain could die. This isn't what he wants – he just wanted to frighten Cain." So he goes back? "Yes - and he tries to get Cain out, but by now the flames are massive." And Aaron has to rescue them both, doesn't he? "Adam and Cain are stuck in the garage and Aaron sees the fire. He saves them both." Even if Cain survives, Adam's in big trouble... "It's constantly on Adam's mind after the fire. But I think Aaron is going to help keep the police out of it. Adam was there for Aaron through the whole thing with Jackson. Now Aaron returns the favour – massively."
