Emmerdale's Adam Thomas: 'Adam knows he has to tell police he's the arsonist'
Adam Thomas reveals to Soaplife why Aaron’s return isn’t good for the other Adam in his life, his Emmerdale character Adam Barton…
Things were already bad for Adam Barton, but Aaron’s return makes his life very tricky. Aaron wants his freedom back and, for that to happen, Adam has to confess to the garage fire and face a possible prison sentence. “He doesn’t want to go to prison, but he will do anything for Aaron,” explains Adam…
How did Adam feel when Aaron (Danny Miller) showed up?
“He was not happy at first, because he turned up without warning, when Adam was in the middle of a job for Ross. He had a really important role to play in warning Donna [Verity Rushworth] and Ross [Michael Parr] when the nightclub boss was on his way back and it all went wrong when Aaron appeared.”
He wasn’t happy after that, either, was he?
“No, because Aaron keeps hinting out he wants to come back and the only way that can happen is for Adam to admit that he started the fire at the garage.”
What’s Adam’s plan of action?

“Initially, he suggests that both he and Aaron run away to France – he sees that as the only way they can both remain free.”
But?
“At the end of the day, Adam will do anything for Aaron and ends up telling everyone in The Woolpack that he started the fire and not Aaron. Once the truth is out, he knows he will have to tell the police and it will be game over. It will also mean that Aaron can live a normal life, although he’s still in trouble for skipping bail.”
Where does this leave Adam with his family?
“He’s still rowing a lot with Moira [Natalie J Robb], but I think that eventually things will improve. I think there will also come a point where he builds bridges with James, too.”
Will Adam go to prison?
“You’ll have to wait and see, but at the moment, it’s not looking good for him.”
