Jeff Hordley on Cain losing the plot and Charity!
Emmerdale's Jeff Hordley reveals Cain makes a big mistake when his dodgy deal with Jai goes horribly wrong… Is Cain enjoying being engaged to Charity? "Yeah absolutely. He really wants to marry her and he’s over all that lack of trust thing. They’re getting married. End of. But then there’s the dodgy satnav business…" Does Cain know that Charity and Debbie are involved? "He knows they’re plotting something with Nikhil to make some cash and feels peeved because they’re not letting him in on it. Jai tells Cain about the scam and they plan to get the van of satnavs robbed to teach them a lesson. But then it all goes wrong…" How wrong? "Cain gets these two mates of his to hijack the haulage van carrying the satnavs. He thinks Carl will be driving… but at the last minute Carl gives the job to Charity." And Cain doesn’t know? "No… and, even worse, Charity’s taken little Noah on the job with her." What do the hijackers do? "They’re pretty aggressive and Charity’s gagged and tied up. Noah’s absolutely terrified and tries to hide but they find him and tie him up too." When does Cain discover the mix-up? "When his cronies tell him they won’t be working for him again if it involves women and children. Cain’s horrified and rushes to find the van. But as he’s about to open the doors he realises that if he does Charity will know he set the whole thing up. So, Cain being Cain, he scarpers." How are Charity and Noah set free? "Carl finds them and releases them. Charity arrives home shaken, swearing she’ll get her own back on whoever is responsible." Does Cain confess? "He thinks he’s got away with it until Noah says he saw Cain peering through the van windows before Carl turned up. Cain has no option but to admit the truth." What’s Charity’s reaction? "Not good. She says she’ll never forgive him. And she tells him the wedding’s off." Will Cain be able to talk her round? "He thinks so. He’ll do whatever it takes. There’s no way he wants to lose her…"
