Well, we nearly choked on our wine and pizza watching Friday night’s episode of Emmerdale, when Carly Hope (Gemma Atkinson) was talking babies with Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi).
There they were, gossiping about how Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) managed to keep her pregnancy a secret from everyone, especially dad Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson), when Carly said something that made us sit up and pay extra attention…
Carly couldn't look at Leyla as they discussed Megan's secret pregnancy
“I can’t believe she’s been pregnant all this time, and hiding the bump,” Leyla said.
“Yeah, well, not everyone shows with the first,” Carly said, turning red, hanging her head, fiddling with her apron and looking extremely uncomfortable.

Carly is brilliant with little April (Amelia Flanagan), Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) daughter, who she looks after when she’s not in school.
They have a very special relationship now, but Carly wasn’t keen on being involved with April at first. Now we're wondering if that was because Carly didn't feel worthy of caring for a child after giving away her own.
Does Carly love April as she would a child she gave up?
It’s clear, though, that Carly has fallen in love with April. Is she Carly’s substitute for the child she gave up?
“Carly wants to settle down in the village, find someone and have a happy life,” Gemma said recently.
But trouble follows Carly like a shadow… She came back to the village as a runaway bride.
