Actress Patsy Kensit has revealed that she would not consider a regular acting role in a soap until her sons have left home, in order to allow her to spend more time with her family. The 44-year-old mum of two - who is fronting Birds Eye's new Grow Your Own campaign encouraging people to cultivate their own vegetables - played Sadie King in Emmerdale and Faye Morton in Holby City, and described the process of starring in a continuing drama as "absolutely relentless". "There's a lot to be said for working flat out for four months and having no life and having to juggle everything with your family, your children, after school things you're meant to be at," she said. "Four months out of the year you can get round that. "Week in, week out, year in, year out, it's really tough. Two-and-a-half years on Emmerdale, four-and-a-half on Holby, and when I left Holby I realised my eldest son was a man. "I'd been very hands on; I'd been there obviously, but it was such a shock to me. I got rid of any childcare help I had. I thought 'I'm going to be a full time mum now'. "I need to work. I can't just do the school run and cook for the rest of my life, but I've got to find a job that can fit into family life as well." However Patsy added that she hasn't ruled out a soap role in the future. "I never say never. Who knows when the boys have grown up and left home? Something like that would be amazing again, but right now I need something a little bit different, I think."
