Wil Johnson to make dramatic exit from Emmerdale
Emmerdale actor Wil Johnson is to leave the soap in the wake of a dramatic storyline involving the death of his character's daughter Gemma.
Wil, who plays single dad Dom Andrews, will make his exit after the teenager - who is involved in a confrontation with Belle Dingle - meets a tragic end.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: "I'm fortunate to be leaving the show off the back of a gripping storyline, which I hope the audience will appreciate and have empathy for."
"I've had a wonderful time playing Dom Andrews but, like with most things, you have to know when it's time to leave the building, hopefully on a high."
The 48-year-old, who joined Emmerdale in 2012, recently hit the headlines after he was declared bankrupt for the second time in three years.
His screen alter ego has also had a rough ride of late after girlfriend Alicia Metcalfe ended their relationship to rekindle her romance with husband David (Matthew Wolfenden).
