Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell)
Chris Chittell, who plays Eric Pollard, is the longest-serving current cast member. He joined in 1986. Many things have changed since then, except for Pollard's 'tash!
Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper)
Lil' Eden Taylor-Draper joined Emmerdale in 2005. She's transformed the character of Belle Dingle from cutesy youngster to homewreckin' femme fatale in only 11 years!
Aaron Livesy (Danny Miller)
Danny first appeared on our screens in 2008 as Aaron Livesy. We've been on one long rollercoaster with him and Danny has won numerous awards for his portrayal.
Bernice White (Samantha Giles)
Bernice White (née Blackstock/Thomas) has been on and off the farm since 1998. Countless men have been unable to resist that red hot barnet.

Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher)
Who would have thought that little Andy Sugden, who joined in 1996, would turn into the absolute megahunk he is today!?
Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox)
Lisa Dingle, lovingly portrayed by Jane Cox since 1996, is a national treasure. The Dingle matriarch is the longest-serving female actress.
Ashley Thomas (John Middleton)
Vicar Ashley has been a linchpin of the village since 1996. His battle with dementia has certified his place in our hearts; John Middleton will leave the soap at the end of this storyline.
Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb)
Just look at little Debbie Dingle. Charley Webb joined the cast in 2002 and is one of Emmerdale's best-loved characters. She'll be back soon…!
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley)
Since 2000, Jeff Hordley has created one of the most iconic characters in Emmerdale with his portrayal of Cain Dingle. Also: fit then, fit now.
Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins)
Charity Dingle Tate Sharma Macey is another of Emmerdale's most iconic characters. The seductive siren has been played by Emma Atkins since 2000.
David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden)
The illegitimate son of Pollard, David joined Emmerdale in 2006. His current battle with testicular cancer has had us all in tears, and Matthew Wolfenden's brave portrayal has kept us hooked.
Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter)
Of the 2,464 Dingles, Chas is one of viewers' faves. Lucy Pargeter has had some explosive storylines to act since 2002, most recently the return of her PTSD.
Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy)
When whacky Laurel joined in 2002, she was dressed as a bumble bee and collapsed at Marlon's engagement party. A lot has happened since then; her battle with alcoholism and her struggle to cope with Ashley's dementia have been major Emmerdale storylines.
Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock)
Mark Charnock first appeared on Emmerdale as Marlon in 1996. He's one of the show's best-loved characters - and he's hardly changed!
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb)
The sexy Barton family joined Emmerdale in 2009 and Moira was at the helm. Strong, feisty but fair, Moira has been intrinsic to many of the soap's hottest storylines.
Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler)
Nicola Wheeler joined the soap in 2001. It must be easy playing a character with the same name! Bernice's little sister, Nicola's had some serious storylines, but she's also given us many LOLs.
Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt)
Who remembers Paddy and Mandy? Soapland's hottest couple were our favourites. Dominic Brunt has been in Emmerdale since 1997 and is one the longest-serving characters!
Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry)
Zoe joined as Rhona in 2001, yet she's barely changed in 15 years!
Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell)
The colour of Zak's beard may have changed since Steve Halliwell joined the soap in 1994, but his passion for a black flat cap has not. The begetter of the Dingle clan is one of the most famous characters in the Dales.
Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins)
The character of Victoria is the longest-serving female in Emmerdale history. Isabel has played her since 2006, but in ten years has created a strong, sensitive character.
Sam Dingle (James Hooton)
James Hooton's portrayed Sam Dingle since 1995. The loveable village joker is a firm fan favourite!
