It's the moment she's been dreading: unable to cope with dementia-sufferer Ashley's care any longer, Laurel braces herself as her other half leaves the family home and goes into a home in Emmerdale.
Poor Laurel is beside herself and racked with guilt even though she knows it's the only viable option and is best for everyone concerned.
How will Ashley fare in his new surroundings and how will the family cope with him no longer living under their roof?

Earlier, a heavy-hearted Laurel finds it tough as she sets to work, packing up the belongings that Ashley will need.
To make matters worse, her hubby has no memory of where he's going or why he's moving out.
When the family arrive at the home, Gabby and Sandy are feeling emotional and Laurel's struggling.
She feels terrible and is wracked with guilt even though deep down she knows it's the best thing.
The former vicar looks around and takes in his new surroundings.
A forlorn Laurel is hit hard with the enormity of the situation. Her beloved Ashley is never coming back.
What will he make of his new environment?
