Desperate for cash, Rakesh sets light to The Mill but who is trapped inside?
There are devastating consequences and villagers are left fighting for their lives when ruthless Rakesh sets fire to The Mill in order to claim on insurance.
Emmerdale is rocked when the Mill goes up in flames triggering a terrifying explosion!
Earlier on Rakesh forces his way into The Mill with a crowbar and sets to work vandalising the place
After going crazy with an aerosol and graffitiing the walls he surveys all the damage he's done
He gathers the bottles of white spirits he's bought to ensure maximum destruction!
And begins spraying the flammable liquid over all the surfaces
Meanwhile he's oblivious to the fact that Nicola is upstairs and is cowering for cover after hearing smashing noises coming from below
Crouching behind some scaffolding and brandishing a wine bottle for self-defence she wonders if it's safe enough to try and make a dash for it
Meanwhile having trashed the downstairs flat, Rakesh takes out a lighter and prepares to do his worst
Nicola is terrified as she notices the smoke that's started to seep underneath the door frame
Panicking, and struggling not to choke, she desperately tries to find an escape route
But all of a sudden there's an ear shattering bang and a huge explosion rocks The Mill as a box of white spirit bursts into flames
Nicola's left trapped and pinned against a wall as the blast causes scaffolding to fall on top of her
Carly and Priya are open-mouthed with shock to see The Mill engulfed in flames' while Rakesh looks on trying to mask his guilt
Ronnie and Dan hear Nicola's piercing screams from inside the building and run to the scene
But by now The Mill has become a raging inferno! Is anyone going to get out alive?
Lawrence is deeply upset to see his former lover, Ronnie, unconscious and apologises to him in hospital for how cruelly he's treated him
Andy is taken-aback when he catches Lawrence tenderly holding Ronnie's hand. Has Lawrence been masking his true feelings for his ex-lover all along?
Nicola pulls through following her traumatic ordeal in the blazing Mill and Rakesh wastes no time in quizzing her at the hospital to find out just how much she remembers about the explosion. Is the slippery lawyer in the clear?
It looks like he is! Relieved, Rakesh calls the insurance company to put the next phase of his plan into action
However there's fresh panic, when having discharged herself from hospital, Nicola suddenly collapses back at home. Jimmy's frantic with worry.
Nicola's taken back to hospital but is alarmed to realise she can't move her right arm or leg. It soon becomes clear she's suffering much more serious injuries than she previously thought. With Nicola in a bad way and Ronnie still fighting for his life is Rakesh going to get his comeuppance? Watch Emmerdale on ITV from Monday 27 June.
