Robert Carlyle escapes an attack by rampaging virus carriers then, 28 weeks later, sets out to find his children.
The kids (Imogen Poots and Mackintosh Muggleton) are in a decimated London that's been declared infection free by the US army but, as Carlyle's family is reunited, it becomes clear the rage virus is not dead after all…
This eagerly awaited sequel to the 2002 hit 28 Days Later has a thin plot but it is a brilliantly gritty, marvellous-looking movie, nerve-janglingly handled and with several thrilling set pieces, including a memorable one at Wembley Stadium.
Carlyle helps hold the movie together, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's direction is amazingly full-on and London is a real star - it's never looked so bleak and scary.
Great ending.
