Ambulance – BBC1
The documentary returns, this time following the North West Ambulance Service, beginning with a busy weekend as fans descend on a Manchester music festival
Anyone who thinks they’re busy at work should spare a thought for the North West Ambulance Service, who answered 11,179 calls in just one weekend!
This fly-on-the-wall documentary follows the paramedics and call operators as they deal with everything from intoxicated festivalgoers in Manchester, cardiac arrests and major car crashes.
As paramedic Andrea (pictured, top) explains, after visiting a woman with sepsis who refuses to go to hospital, ‘Unless you’ve been in this position I don’t think anyone can ever understand the grief you can go through in a day’s work.’
