Benedict Cumberbatch and Rory Kinnear star in a new drama exploring the men behind the Leave and Remain Campaigns prior to the Brexit referendum in 2016 in Brexit: The Uncivil War
A drama about Brexit – sounds awful, doesn’t it?
But this is an extraordinary film about how one man ripped up the rulebook to win the EU referendum for the Vote Leave campaign.
Based on real events and people, this tells the story of Dominic Cummings (Benedict Cumberbatch), the man who ran the Leave campaign behind the scenes.
His idea was to break away from the old way of doing politics and use some fancy new technology to target people who had never engaged in politics before.
It’s a clever and dynamic film with a fantastic cast, especially Benedict as Dominic and Rory Kinnear as Craig Oliver, the government communications director for the Remain campaign.
