While the Ramsay Street residents are shocked to hear about Paul's affair with Kirsten, Rebecca tries but fails to forget about Paul and begins to consider ways to forgive him. Meanwhile, Oliver is finding it difficult to deal with his love for Elle and the hurt he's feeling at her lies. He takes out his frustration at Paul by firing Kirsten from Lassiter's, before handing in his own resignation to Elle. Paul saves Elle the trouble of firing him by resigning as well. Elsewhere, Kirsten is devastated at losing her job and is finding her new status as the local pariah difficult to live with. However, Ned gallantly stands by her, despite his family's disapproval. Later, Rebecca is shocked when she comes face to face with Kirsten and learns that Paul's betrayal was far worse than she first feared… Sam is tense as her efforts to fall pregnant bear no fruit. She holes herself up at the law office, claiming she is catching up on work.
