Carl blackmails Chas!
Carl has never forgiven Chas for jilting him at the altar and making off with 30 grand of his money. He conveniently forgets that she did all that because he had an affair with dirty, flirty Eve and broke Chas's heart. Still, the way Carl sees it he now has a chance to get even. He shows Chas he has her phone and she realises he can expose her affair with Cameron. Desperate Dan knows none of this. He just wants Chas to go with him to buy a suit, but she goes AWOL... She's at Carl's house trying to get her phone back. But he wants something, too: the 30 grand she took from him. Then it dawns on Chas that he's blackmailing her. Cain wants something from Moira, too. He says he didn't take on Alex to help her out of a sticky situation, but if she wanted to do him a favour she could give Zak a job. Why he thinks she'd want to do him a favour when he says he hasn't done one for her is anyone's guess! Paddy and Rhona need a favour from Pearl... She catches them with their bags packed and passports at the ready and it's clear to her that they're not just off for a short break! *Second episode* Paddy and Rhona think they have convinced Pearl to keep quiet about their plans to do a runner the next day. But then Pearl sees Marlon and sees a father who has no idea he's about to lose his son. Her conscience gets the better of her and she tells Marlon what she knows. Laurel convinces him to call the police - who say they'll come in the morning to see what's what. Great, officers, no hurry; a man's only about to have his son snatched away from him! There's a greater sense of urgency about Chas as she tries to get her phone back from Carl. But he's having far too much fun with it. He could send Debbie a picture of Chas and Cameron - and tells Chas that's exactly what he'll do if she doesn't cough up his 30 grand. This is bad and Chas needs to talk to Cameron, but he just panics. What are they going to do??? Chas goes back to Carl and he returns her phone - but he has downloaded all he needs. Moira has done what Cain wanted and given Zak a job and Cain shows that he's grateful with just a nod. A man of few words is Cain and Moira wonders if she'll ever get an explanation from him.
