Mary Ann (Joanne Froggatt) continues her murderous rampage when James (Dickensian’s Sam Hoare) tells her he’s not sure he can marry again so soon after his wife’s death.

He must consider his children after all, so when two of them suddenly fall gravely ill, we know Mary Ann has been at it again with her poisonous teapot.

We would have liked a few more episodes from this intriguing drama, as the real-life story of Victorian serial murderer Mary Ann is a fascinating tale.
