Derek's death rocks the Brannings
The Brannings are in shock following Derek's death on Christmas day. Max warns Jack and Joey they need to get their stories straight before they talk to the police, keeping quiet about the argument with Derek. Joey struggles to contain his grief, while Carol looks after a distraught Alice. At the mortuary, Max, Jack and Carol are united in grief as they say a final farewell to their brother. Alfie and Roxy are awkward around each other following Roxy's declaration of love on Christmas day. Jean and Mo pick up on the atmosphere and warn Roxy that Alfie is fragile. In the barrel store, Roxy and Alfie can't deny the chemistry between them. When Alfie tries to kiss Roxy she tells him she can't be second best to Kat. Alfie reassures her that she's number one. Kim wakes up in a festive mood not realising she's slept through Christmas day after over-indulging on Mo's punch on Christmas Eve! Denise is miffed with Kim for ruining Christmas - and Boxing day - when she's rude about the Masoods' imminent visit, calling them boring. After a chat with Zainab, Denise realises how important family is and recreates Christmas day specially for Kim.
