Doctors spoilers: Daniel Granger and Zara Carmichael argue over surrogacy

Doctors, Daniel Granger, Zara Carmichael

There's a battle of wills as Daniel and his wife Zara continue to disagree over whether or not to have another child through surrogacy

Dr Daniel Granger is not impressed when he finds his wife Dr Zara Carmichael researching Surrogates for hire online.

Daniel had post-natal depression after the birth of the couple's son Joe, and doesn't want to risk anything like that happening again. However, Zara would love for Joe to have a little brother or sister. Trouble is, neither of them are prepared to budge on the issue. Furious over the disagreement, Zara storms off!

Meanwhile, nurse Ayesha Lee enjoys a gossip with surgery colleagues Valerie Pitman and Dr Emma Reid about her upcoming date with social worker Leo Tomas.

But Ayesha is puzzled when Leo instructs her to wear scruffy clothes and to meet him in the park. When she arrives later, Ayesha is in for a shock when she discovers just what's in store for her first date with Leo. It's going to be a dirty date but perhaps not in the way she was hoping for!

Elsewhere, midwife Ruhma Carter finds herself accused of incompetence when she delivers a baby with a broken collar bone. Can Ruhma get to the bottom of what happened and clear her name?

Doctors continues weekdays at 1:45pm on BBC One

Writer

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.

Simon is also co-author of The Treasures Of Coronation Street (Carlton Books)

And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
