Driven: The Billy Monger Story – BBC2
The amazing story of courageous teenage racing driver Billy Monger
Last April, 17-year-old racing driver Billy Monger was involved in a horrific crash while competing in a Formula 4 race at Donington Park in Leicestershire and had to have both his legs amputated.
Despite his injuries, Billy was determined to race again and this moving documentary follows him as he sets out to do just that.
With the support of his family and friends, Billy learns to adjust to using prosthetic legs and to driving a modified racing car.
‘My life didn’t stop with the crash, it changed,’ he says. Billy is an inspiration. Never dwelling on what might have been but instead focusing on getting back to what he loves doing – racing.
