Emmerdale spoilers! Chas Dingle has some surprise news for Laurel Thomas
Chas Dingle has a heart-to-heart with Laurel Thomas and reveals some secret news. Plus Moira is rattled when she's confronted by an intruder
Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) bond when Chas confides in Laurel and breaks some secret news.
The revelation comes when Chas is tending to her baby daughter Grace's grave and is part of a special episode which marks International Women’s Day.
The episode, featuring only female characters and written, produced, directed and recorded by a female led crew, also sees Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) being alarmed when she stumbles across an intruder. Who has startled her?
Meanwhile following the phone-call which knocked her for six, a distracted Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) leaves the village.
Elsewhere, little April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) has worries of her own and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) finds herself appreciative of an unlikely ally when she confides in Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen).
Speaking about the special episode, Emmerdale producer Kate Brooks says, “Our International Women’s Day episode is not only a celebration of women in the broadest sense of the word, but also a showcase for the female talent we have in the television industry. We wanted the episode to be character driven and story led, exploring all aspects of what it’s like to be a women in 2019”.
Emma Atkins who plays Charity adds, "Charity is on a mission in this episode and although I can’t give anything away her scenes will have a significant impact going forward."
While Lucy Pargeter who plays Chas says, "The episode deals with female stories across different ages from little April upwards. My character Chas bonds with Laurel over some news she has, they are not two characters who normally make time for each other so it was lovely working with Charlotte who plays Laurel.”
Emmerdale returns on Monday on ITV
