Is Essie able to handle teenage angst?
Can Raf help the nurse bond with foster son Parker?
Desperate to be a mum, nurse Essie Harrison jumped at the chance to take vulnerable teen Parker Whitfield in as her foster son a few months ago. But, this week, Essie fears she might not be cut out for parenting.
Essie's worried she’s falling short as a foster mum to Parker but, wanting to prove herself, refuses to accept any help from Raf, who she's now dating. Essie has to put her personal problems aside, though, as she helps Raf treat MS sufferer Roma, whose own teenage son Lewis is her primary carer. Seeing their closeness, Essie tells Raf she wishes she had that bond with Parker.
When Parker turns up on the ward, Raf offers to keep an eye on him. As they talk man to man, Parker opens up to Raf about a girl he secretly likes. Raf gives Parker sound relationship advice, but the boy’s furious when Raf lets slip that he and Essie are seeing each other!
Wanting to be the one to tell Parker about their relationship, Essie thinks she’s failed him again, but has Raf actually helped her connect with her foster son?
Meanwhile, Bernie asks Donna to keep an eye on Morven on her first day back at work after the trauma of losing her best friend Jasmine. Although Morven throws herself into the diagnosis and treatment of her patient, can she still accept the life and death nature of her job after all she's been through?
Also, Jac’s unimpressed when Matteo assigns new F1 Damon to her on his assessment day. Despite a shaky start, Damon triumphs under Jac's guidance and, energised by his success, Jac decides she wants her job back as head of CT. But will Hanssen agree to her demands?
