Manager Nigel Clough has returned to the Championship with Burton Albion’s promotion and tonight the Brewers take on Derby County (kick-off 7.45pm), a club Clough previously coached, as, famously, did his father Brian.
This is a tough slog of a division, as Albion learned in their first match of the season when they were beaten 4-3 by Nottingham Forest (also formerly managed by Brian Clough), but they've signed players who understand the rigours of the league – Lee Williamson from Blackburn and Lloyd Dyer from Burnley.
And with Clough at the helm, Albion have a very decent chance of positioning themselves as a team on the up.
